Nursing Philosophy

I strive to provide compassionate, humanistic, and individualized holistic care to improve the well-being of veterans experiencing vulnerability with health-related situations, with the goal to enhance environmental awareness and broadened perspectives about life to facilitate personal boundary expansion and self-transcendence in the veteran and military population.

I view the veteran as a whole that is integral with their environment and past experiences and not just the sum of their condition or illness. I understand the unique considerations and needs of this population and will provide comprehensive care and a safe space to care for the veteran experiencing health-related situations and end-of-life. I will consider the veteran’s illnesses,service-connected exposures, service-connected medical conditions, and service-related experiences and how they may impact their inner resources to expand their boundaries. I will provide nursing care to facilitate boundary expansion in the following ways:

INTRApersonally towards a greater awareness of their values and dreams, which they may have not considered for a long time or which may be conflicting based upon their previous training or experiences.

INTERpersonally by relating to others and the environment which may be much different than previously experienced due to training or traumatic experiences in the military environment,

Temporally by connecting with dimensions beyond the typically observable world

I will  provide compassionate, humanistic and individualized holistic care to Veterans and Military members experiencing vulnerability with the goal to enhance environmental awareness and broadened perspectives about life to facilitate personal boundary expansion and self-transcendence.
